Two new members have joined the Crossrail Board, bringing it to its full membership of six.
Peter Hendy’s remit as recently appointed Commissioner, for Transport for London (TfL), now includes Crossrail Board responsibilities. Peter previously served as TfL’s Managing Director of Surface Transport and is also Chair of the Commission for Integrated Transport.
The second new member is Hugh Norie, a senior civil engineer, awarded an OBE for his work in Hong Kong. Hugh works for Mott Parsons Gibb and has headed the government’s project representative team for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL), for the past six years. He has also been a member of the DfT Crossrail advisory group for the last 18 months.
Douglas Oakervee, Executive Chairman of Cross London Rail Links (CLRL) said: ’Now that we have a full Board I look forward to the Crossrail Bill gaining Royal Assent and moving onto the construction phase. This is an extremely exciting time for the project.’
