Crossrail launches Spring Edition of Link Magazine for young people

The Spring/Summer edition of the 'The Link', a newsletter aimed at young people to involve them in the Crossrail project has been launched.

Three hundred thousand copies of the magazine are printed and sent to over 750 schools across London and the newsletter is also published on the Crossrail website.

'Young people are the passengers of the future. We want them to feel a part of this exciting project and to listen to their views and ideas,' said Bernard Gambrill, Head of Public Affairs at Cross London Rail Links.

He added: 'Young people are the key to Crossrail. As current primary school students will be leaving school and entering the world of work the first trains will begin to run, so their views are very important to us.'

This edition features a project to design station improvements in Slough, carried out by A level students at St Angela’s Ursuline school in Newham, as well as the regular features such as games, a competition and profiles of some of the work roles at Crossrail – valuable careers information for young people.

There is also an update on the Crossrail select committee.

A download of the newsletter is available at www.crossrail.co.uk.
