The Summer edition of the ‘The Link’, a magazine aimed at young people to involve them in the Crossrail project has been launched.
‘Young people are the passengers of the future. We want them to feel a part of this exciting project and to listen to their views and ideas,’ said Bernard Gambrill, Head of Public Affairs at Cross London Rail Links.
He added: ‘Young people are the key to Crossrail. As current primary school students will be leaving school and entering the world of work the first trains will begin to run, so their views are very important to us.'
Three hundred thousand copies of the magazine have been printed and sent to over 750 schools across London, and the magazine is also published on the Crossrail website.
Many schools use the material in National Curriculum studies and this edition features sixth formers at Queens Park Community School in Brent who used Crossrail as a case study for their Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education (AVCE) business award.
One student said ‘This was a great opportunity for me and my colleagues to attain a real world example. A big thanks to Crossrail for giving us this meaningful opportunity. I am now considering a career in the marketing sector of the business world.’
