The Crossrail Board
As was announced on 23 July 2008, the Crossrail Board has been reconstituted on 1 August 2008 in accordance with the Heads of Terms agreed between DfT and TfL in November 2007.
The new Board consists of -

Main Board Members
Douglas Oakervee, OBE
As the Executive Chairman of Cross London Rail Links Limited, Douglas is one of the country’s most distinguished civil engineers, with broad international experience in the delivery of major projects. He oversaw the construction of the new Hong Kong International Airport, and was elected as the 139th President of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 2003. Douglas was appointed Crossrail Executive Chairman in December 2005.
Michael Cassidy, CBE
Michael is currently an independent non-executive director of UBS Ltd, and chairman of the Museum of London. He has been a City legal practitioner for over 35 years, as well as an independent director of British Land plc, chairman of Trikona Trinity Capital, chairman of the planning committee and then leader of the Council at the City of London Corporation, president of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust.
Patrick Crawford
Patrick is currently chief executive and accounting officer for the Export Credits Guarantee Department in London. He has as managing director/Emerging Africa Advisers been responsible for the management of the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, and has been managing director/global head of project finance for Deutsche Bank AG in New York and London.
Sir Joe Dwyer
Sir Joe is a chartered civil engineer and a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is stepping down after nine years of chairing Liverpool Vision, the country’s first urban regeneration company. He has been a director, then group chief executive and finally group chairman of George Wimpey plc. He was chair of the British contractors within Transmanche Link. He is a former president of the Chartered Institution of Building and the Institution of Civil Engineers, and is currently a governor of the Liverpool John Moores University.
Sir Mike Hodgkinson
Sir Mike joined Board as TfL's nominee Non-Executive Director. Sir Mike has more than 30 years' experience in the transport industry and has been a member of the TfL Board since 2000. He has served as Managing Director at Land Rover and Chief Executive at Grand Metropolitan Foods and BAA. He was Chairman of Post Office Ltd between 2003 and 2007 and a Member of the Commission for Integrated Transport between 2001 and 2007. He is currently Deputy Chairman of Tui Travel plc and a Board Director of Dublin Airport. He has been Chairman of the Essex Business Consortium since 2001.
Heather Rabbatts, CBE
Heather is a qualified lawyer, and currently executive deputy chair of Millwall FC, a member of the UK Film Council Board and a former governor of the London School of Economics. She has been a governor of the British Broadcasting Corporation, a non-executive director of the Bank of England, managing director of the education division for Channel 4 Television, chief executive of Impower, chief executive of the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Merton and deputy chief executive of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Keith Berryman, Managing Director Property and Oversite Developments
Keith Berryman is a civil engineer and has spent the last 30 years on the design, finance and construction of new railways and other public works. He also spent many years working overseas including highway construction in Nepal and central Africa and 13 years in Hong Kong, including a period advising on finance of major infrastructure projects. He was responsible for the production of the London East West Study for the Strategic Rail Authority in 2001, which led to the setting up of the current Crossrail project. Since then he has led the design of the scheme, latterly as Managing Director, Bill.
Dr Graham Plant, Programme Director
Dr Graham Plant is a chartered civil engineer, who has worked on the design and implementation of civil engineering and building projects in many parts of the world, principally UK and South Africa (as director of Ove Arup and Partners), and Asia, where in the 1990s he was responsible for managing the design of Hong Kong's new airport. Over the past decade he has acted as client adviser on major engineering management projects around the world.
